Grand Archive Ban & Restricted Update
As of November 25, 2024, the Grand Archive Trading Card Game (TCG) has updated its Ban & Restricted (B&R) list, effective immediately. The current update introduces no new changes; however, the development team continues to monitor specific cards to maintain a balanced and healthy gaming environment.
Watchlist Categories:
Category 3 (Banned Cards) This category includes cards deemed too powerful or impactful, limiting tournament deck diversity and overall meta health. The following cards are currently banned: Sword of Avarice, Reckless Conversion, Crystal of Empowerment, Corhazi Outlook & Erupting Rhapsody.
Category 2 (Problematic Cards Under Watch) Cards in this category are considered highly problematic and are under close observation for potential future legality changes. Currently, two cards are listed in this category. Chalice of Blood & Baby Gray Slime
Category 1 (Future Balance Concerns) This category comprises cards not currently problematic but considered unhealthy for future balance and game design space. There are presently four cards in this category. Scepter of Lumina, Dream Fairy, Gaia's Blessing & Stonescale Band.
As per Grand Archive, the development team is particularly monitoring the card "Baby Gray Slime" for its usage outside dedicated slime decks. At this time, its impact appears controlled, and no immediate action is planned. Their team aims to allow the game format to evolve organically without excessive manual adjustments.
The next Ban & Restricted update is scheduled for January 10, 2025. Players are encouraged to stay informed by reviewing the complete list of banned cards and monitoring official announcements for future updates.
Note: The Watchlist includes only cards that were previously legal or are currently legal in the Standard format.
